It’s official.

As of this year, New South Wales was the final state to join the rest of the country and head towards the ban of single-use plastic bags as part of an initiative to reduce landfill waste, litter clean-up costs, the danger to wildlife and pollution of the natural environment.

To demonstrate their commitment, Woolworths and Coles phased out single-use plastic bags nationwide in July, with Target and Kmart close behind, aiming for the start of 2019.

While the campaign is the right move and encouraging people to switch to reusable options, the need for bags remains strong, presenting the opportunity for tote bags to take centre stage.
